Prefabricated Multi-Storey Buildings

Do you need to build a multi-story structure and want to speed up construction processes without losing the earthquake-resistant advantages of the traditional structure?

Catania Group specializes in the realization of CG System-type beam-pillar structures and highly engineered load-bearing partition structures, which are ideal for minimizing the construction time of works. Suitable for any type of slab, the industrialized system proposed by Catania Group is able to meet any structural need, prefabricating the load-bearing skeleton of buildings in the factory and entrusting the reinforced castings for completion on site with the function of “structural glue” between the different parts.

Prefabricated system suitable for any type of slab

The beams and columns are designed and manufactured to flexibly adapt to any type of slab, whether it is a predalles slab, hollow core slab, clay-concrete slab, corrugated sheet, solid cast slab, etc. This versatility enables the use of the PREM system in civil, industrial, commercial, administrative, and infrastructural structures (subways, airports, viaducts, etc.).

Speed and safety

The lightweight prefabrication system proposed by Catania Group guarantees both speed and safety in the execution of works. If studied at the design stage, the site’s perimeter guardrail and protection systems can be integrated with the edge beams, so as to eliminate the risks of falling from the floor and reduce the cost of safety.

Certification of welds

The high-strength steel used in the reinforcement of columns and beams is assembled with fully restored welds certified in the factory. Continuous quality checks in the factory ensure that only products with a warranty certificate, whose welds have passed numerous cohesion capacity tests, are delivered to the construction site.

Call multi-storey pillars in slab thickness

Thanks to the use of special joints and the technology of multi-story columns with wet nodes, theCG system proposed by Catania Group makes it possible to realize buildings of any height with prefabricated pillars and concealed brackets. Once the slab is poured, the upper floor is made by first placing the pillars in their final position, then leveling them and ensuring the perfect verticality of the columns (both metal and reinforced concrete), then shimming and securing the mechanical joints with a torque wrench, then completing the casting of the node With emaco mortar. This is completed by placing and casting beams and slabs or alternatively formwork and reinforcement for full cross pour, then proceeding as just described for the slabs above as well.

Anti-seismic and in-slab-thickness 3- and 4-way beam-to-column nodes

The mechanism of transfer of shear stresses and moments from the beam to the abutment can be of the pendular type o hyperstatic depending on design requirements; in any case, whether it is a 2-, 3-, or 4-way node, the beam-to-column joint is designed on demand to be able to absorb wind thrust and seismic shaking either through the use of reconfigured beams with the use of beams in slab thickness according to architectural requirements. The use of closed hook brackets ensures the necessary confinement of concrete in the construction of earthquake-resistant buildings.

Buildings with curvilinear outline

Whatever the shape, whatever the structural challenge, Catania Group responds with the most suitable engineering solutions. Curved floor plan buildings and variable section structures are easily constructed thanks to the use of curved beams processed with pantographs and industrial bending machines. Edge beams are custom-made with integrated curved metal formwork upon request.

The beam shapes are designed to be able to hold plant downfalls inside as well, ensuring maximum flexibility of the construction system.

Limited use of liners and props

The lightweight prefabrication system proposed by Catania Group minimizes the use of linings and props, applying them only where strictly necessary, to significantly reduce execution times. Self-supporting beams and single-story or multi-story columns streamline assembly operations, whether using tower cranes or mobile cranes.
